Effectiveness of Virtual Fencing Collars at Containing Cattle in a Mountainous Region

Explore the use of virtual fencing collars to contain cattle within pasture boundaries on an operational level. This has not been done before by other research, and no other research has been done in mountainous regions. This would fill in gaps in research that have not been explored yet. On top of that research is limited on using collars for targeted grazing applications. This research plans to address this and use targeted grazing to reduce undesired species cover and increase desired species cover. The partner organization will benefit from being able to use rangeland where most fences were burned from the Crater Creek Fire, they will decrease overall cost in maintaining and building fences and increase the quality and value of the rangeland.
