Nobody likes to have dental work redone. It is uncomfortable and it costs money.
Composite resins have been widely used in restorative dentistry for many years and have good clinical longevity, but adequate photoactivation is a critical step in the restorative procedure. One of the main factors influencing correct photoactivation is the type of curing light used. This justifies the need to keep studying the performance of curing lights, especially concerning the simplest and most commonly sold curing lights on the market so that we can understand what is going on and deliver the best treatment and longest lasting for our patients.
This project aims to answer the question that is of great importance to dental patients and to dentists, namely, how to deliver a restoration that will last the longest. How can the dentist achieve the longest lasting restoration? Based on the results of this project, manufacturers of posts will have a better understanding of how to improve light transmission through their posts.
Ultimately the clinical procedures for the proper selection of fiberglass posts may change
We also aim to produce scientific articles and present our research at dental meetings to bring the results of this research to the dental world.
