Evaluating implementation of Stepped Care 2.0 redesigned to improve access to mental health care in a non-profit community agency

System transformation efforts that optimize access to the right care at the right time with a goal to reduce wait times in
mental health services could make a difference to the lives of all Canadians. In response to the impending crisis of access
barriers to mental health care, this project will evaluate the implementation of a Stepped Care 2.0 (SC2.0) model redesigned
to strengthen mental health and addictions support by reducing wait times for intensive case management and increasing
client flow by offering more lower intensity “menu” options. The following key deliverables in the Stepped Care project will be
evaluated: (1) One-at-a-time Counselling, (2) Recovery College co-designed courses, and (3) Measurement Base Care. This
project will be led by PhD Candidate, Rachel VanEvery, who will conduct a mixed-methods study in a collaborative
partnership with the CMHA Hamilton Branch and McMaster University’s Community Research Platform.
