Game of Drones and Lord of Memes: Self-regulating civilians ethics in the tech-driven and democratized war in Ukraine

This research project aims to study the involvement of civilians in the war in Ukraine, focusing on their use of modern technologies like cyberwarfare, memes, and DIY drones. I will spend time in Ukraine, meeting different citizen groups and conducting interviews to understand their values and principles in defending their country. The study also includes foreign volunteers who have joined the conflict without any personal ties to Ukraine. The expected outcomes of the research include developing an ethics framework for civilians involved in the war, to guide their actions and decisions. The research findings will be shared with policy-makers and humanitarian organizations to promote responsible use of technology in conflicts. The London fellowship will be focused on getting in touch with european policymaker in military and humanitarian field for data gathering.
