Racialized newcomer women often face significant challenges in accessing mentorship opportunities, which can be caused
by a range of factors including language barriers, cultural differences, lack of networks, and discrimination. To address these
challenges, the ‘Her Mentors’ project aims to develop inclusive mentorship programs specifically designed for racialized
newcomer women and provide targeted support and resources to help them overcome barriers. The project uses community
research methodologies and an antiracist gender and intersectionality framework to understand the needs and perspectives
of marginalized groups and create transformative change. It also employs an evidence-based benchmarking framework to
analyze best practice mentorship programs. The goal is to share knowledge and help partners and service providers create
more inclusive mentorship programs with fewer resources.
