High-efficiency supersonic binary fluid ejector

From the survey of literature (Eames et al. (1995), Chunnanond & Aphornratana (2004b), Chunnanond & Aphornratana (2004a) and others), the performance of a jet refrigeration system depends greatly on the ejector configuration (characteristics). Many researchers have shown the need to improve performance in order to make ejector-based cooling economically more attractive. It is known that the entrainment ratio (ratio between the mass flow rates of the entrained secondary fluid to the primary fluid) is one of the major parameters that influence the coefficient of performance (COP) of ejector refrigeration systems (Buyadgie et al. (2010), Chunnanond & Aphornratana (2004b)). Furthermore, the use of two chemically distinct fluids in the forward and reverse Rankine cycles of an ejector refrigeration system can improve the COP (Buyadgie et al. (2010)) when the selected binary fluids have different enthalpies of vaporization and different molecular masses. Several experimental investigations have been carried out to study the effect of ejector geometry on its performance….
