Improving Outcomes for Children with Fetal AlcoholSpectrum Disorder in Care

Working with the FASD Support Network of Saskatchewan (the Network), the research project will
involve a process and impact evaluation of the Improving Outcomes for Children with FASD in Foster
Care training. This training is mandatory for all Saskatchewan foster families and optional for adoptive
parents. The overarching goal of the training is to increase parental knowledge of FASD and lead to
more positive outcomes among their children. The intern will utilize pre-, post-, and follow-up/interim
surveys, as well ministry employee and presenter surveys and parent focus groups. The data
gathered will be analyzed to provide recommendations into the process and outcomes of the FASD
training so that it can be more effective in the future. It will also be disseminated to members of
NeuroDevNet across the country.
