Westland Insurance- Learning & Development Technical Internship-Teena & Jashandeep

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. (‘Westland’) was established in 1980 by founder Jeff Wubs as a single-office brokerage in Ladner, British Columbia to meet the insurance needs of local individuals and businesses. Since then, Westland has grown into one of Canada’s largest independently owned insurance distribution businesses. Our head office is located in Surrey, BC and we have over 190 locations across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. Although today Westland remains a family-run business, managed by 2nd generation owners, we have over 40 years of operating history. With our growth, comes the challenge of providing virtual working groups that will allow our national employee base to work in a collaborative and efficient way. This project is aimed at building a virtual database, where we can store our documents, policies and procedures, training materials, and forms. This will include developing a digital filing system, where our team members can save information in a safe and systematized way. The learning and development interns will scope, design, and build a SharePoint site to enable our employees to access learning and development materials quickly and efficiently.
