Marketing Project for Admission Advisors

Admission Advisors is an international student recruitment agency founded in 2004 located in Toronto. They mainly recruit students for over 40 different educational institutions across Canada. Their key main focus areas are academic advice & counseling. They provide academic advice to students including information on courses and programs offered by their partners’ institutions. By working with the partner organization, not only I was able to increase their revenue as a business but alongside I’ll be contributing an impact while helping the organization to find the best-fit students who can come to a country like Canada and create their future and ultimately contributing in Canada’s economy. Overall, the pandemic has had a significant impact on international students and the Canadian institutions and communities that host them. Canadian universities and colleges are facing a potential budget crunch as they try to assess the impact of COVID-19 on international student enrolment, a multibillion-dollar enterprise that has come to represent a significant portion of many schools’ budgets.

YYC Growers and Distributors Cooperative Inc. – Summer Analyst

The disruption we all faced in 2020 was deeply experienced in the food system. As shoppers saw empty grocery shelves they understood on a visceral level the fragility of the global food system. YYC Growers did not experience this disruption and in fact increased our reach with our delicious local food. We have a vibrant, though small, local food shed that is proud to be growing food in ways that improve ecological outcomes. The project we are proposing will quantify both the economic and climate impacts of eating locally. These two impacts will be considered as the foundation to clarify the right organizational structure to scale this important work of access to clean food that improves life on the planet to other communities around Alberta and across Canada.

Making Data Science Easy for Everybody

Open science is the concept of freely sharing data to the public. With large-scale data becoming more easily accessible to everyone, it is important to create a platform where the public can visit to analyze and interpret data. And although open science increases the accessibility of data and reports to the public, it does not reduce readers’ language barriers or increase statistical literacy. In order to responsibly promote the use of data among the public, this project aims to create a platform that allows users to answer a series of data-relevant questions, so it can automatically build code to analyze and visualize data. The platform will then provide the results using plain language and visualizations rather than test statistics. In other words, our aim is to create a platform that makes data science easy for everybody.

In the COVID-19 new “normal” the importance and impact of mental health has surged in interest and become a top priority. This is both an opportunity to grow and also the challenge that HLF has to face to enhance its impact and expand awareness. HLF is currently offering classes to train high school students on developing their mental wellness. They want to expand outreach to go beyond Winnipeg and assist other communities in Canada. A challenge for this project is to connect with youth while following the safety guidelines.

Criterim Group – Analyst/Junior Consultant

Since the first case in Alberta, COVID-19 has impacted everyone, especially the most vulnerable. At Criterium Group, we pride ourselves on our resiliency; with our agile structure and ways of working, we have been able to adapt to these challenging times. In light of the pandemic, we have focused on working with our clients to support their strategy development and adapt their structures and processes, so they too can be resilient. In addition to supporting current projects in both the private and public sector, one client and partnership we want to support even further and highlight is the United Way of Calgary and Area (UWCA).
UWCA has had to shift their focus on dealing with the crisis at hand and requires consultancy support in paving the way for even greater resilience in the future. Criterium Group is proposing to hire four to five interns from the top Canadian universities to consult for UWCA. Criterium Group would cover the costs and would provide consulting services to UWCA as pro bono. Specifically, the Criterium Group interns would support the Social Impact Lab (Lab) and Digital Transition initiatives.
