Effets de l’intensité d’éclaircie commerciale et de la fertilisation sur la croissance et la production ligneuse des pinè des grises del’ouest du Québec

Compte tenu de la nouvelle loi sur l’aménagement durable des forêts et de la mise en place d’aires d’intensification de production ligneuse, l’éclaircie commerciale est une pratique qui devrait augmenter en importance pour répondre au besoin d’approvisionnement de l’industrie
du bois à court terme et pour améliorer la productivité et les rendements des peuplements à moyen-long terme. Un réseau régional de suivi des éclaircies commerciales couvrant l’ensemble du territoire d’Abitibi a été installé entre 1998 et 2003. Le principal objectif de ce réseau est de parfaire les prescriptions d’éclaircie en évaluant l’effet de différentes intensités d’éclaircie et différents traitements de fertilisation sur la croissance et la production ligneuse des pinèdes grises de l’ouest du Québec. Ce dispositif expérimental permettra aussi de vérifier dans quelle mesure les patrons de régénération observés après une coupe d’éclaircie commerciale sont comparables à ceux observés dans les peuplements naturels.

While presenting many challenges, the Covid-19 pandemic has spotlighted a number of opportunities; it has amplified the need to help more people with their mental health. The Salvation Army Boundless Vancouver is a non-profit organization and essential service that has stayed open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to provide food, clothing, and hope to vulnerable persons. Understanding that COVID-19 could be a warning for bigger challenges ahead caused by various natural disasters, the organization is preparing for this possibility of future emergencies or disasters through additional training.

As a Business Analyst, I will help the organization enhance their volunteer management (Volunteer4Salesforce) to enable a greater capacity for our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS), locally, nationally and internationally. Additionally, I will assist the volunteer coordinator in administering the Volunteer4Salesforce (V4S) volunteer management system website, websites and social media channels.

Listed below are some of the skills I will learn or enhance through training and by performing the respective tasks and deliverables:
Analyze, design, implement, test, and operate enhancements to V4S to facilitate the recruitment, registration, training, deployment and upkeep of Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) volunteers.
With HR Training – coordinating online and in?person training with the national and provincial team and local volunteer groups.
With Logistics Training – coordinating existing and new materials required for EDS deployment by utilizing and improving practices in inventory management.
