Aerial drones have been seeing a rise in popularity in a variety of domains such as shipping, search and rescue operations, and photography due to their ability to carry cameras and other packages through trajectories that avoid ground obstacles or offer an advantageous vantage point, all while allowing the operator to remain at a safe […]

Earthquakes happen when a geological fault suddenly slips along itself. Friction primarily governs the how a fault slips and whether that slip will be slow (not an earthquake) or sudden (an earthquake), yet the friction of faults remains poorly understood. One unexplored aspect of this problem is how the unique, grooved, streaky surface geometry and […]

Diagnostics are critical to our healthcare infrastructure, with substantial impacts on patient care and public health policy. Proteins have been used as diagnostic markers for disease monitoring for nearly 200 years, however, current analytical methods require expensive equipment and expert technicians. This restricts the use of such methods to centralized laboratories where they process samples […]

People in prisons and on parole in Canada face extreme barriers to health, wellbeing and social belonging. However, there is limited research on the specific processes and outcomes of criminalization and incarceration, and gaps in understanding can lead to policies and laws that do more harm than good. Given this, this project will support partnership […]

In today’s digital landscape, it is easier than ever for consumers to broadcast their opinion to the world. Online reputation has also become a huge comparison factor for consumers seeking objectivity. Brands must take steps to protect their reputation and control what consumers are saying about them on the internet. We help small and medium-sized […]

The proposed research project aims to investigate how Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a microorganism commonly used in the food and biofuel industry, responds to changes in temperature and manages to withstand high temperatures. Yeast cells face various types of stress as the environment conditions change, both in natural situations and during industrial processes. S. cerevisiae has developed […]
