The purpose of this project is to develop an original model for evaluating TDBFG’s suppliers on the basis of environmental, social, and/or economic criteria. TDBFG has several initiatives to implement its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy. The research will focus on helping TDBFG align its CSR strategy with its supply chain management practices, particularly as it relates to evaluating its suppliers on the basis of sustainability criteria.
This project is a systemic review and assessment of diversity strategies currently in place at The Scarborough Hospital using the Diversity Institute’s Diversity Audit Tool (DAT). The DAT was developed based on research into leading practices and offers a lens through which diversity strategies can be analyzed; this will be the first time that it is applied to an organization within the healthcare sector.
This project will provide a snapshot of diversity in hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). There are a number of culturally diverse groups (e.g., visible minorities, women) who face barriers to accessing healthcare services in Ontario as well as preventing their full workforce participation.
The intern will participate in a variety of activities related to research and analysis related to building programs carried out by various levels of government in connection with Canada’s Centennial of Confederation in 1967. The research will include literature review, archival research, project documentation and analysis, and collection and interpretation of project data, and will contribute to the preparation of grant proposals to major funding agencies.

“I thought I might benefit from learning a little bit more about the business environment, but I didn’t have very high expectations about the workshops themselves,” El Saadany says. It turned out his expectations were to be exceeded by far. In the end, El Saadany took part in half a dozen different Mitacs Step skills development workshops.
What sets the Step workshops apart, El Saadany thinks, is first and foremost the quality and professionalism of the presenters. However, the content has also proven very useful to him.
The purpose of this research project is to collect data on the actors with an interest in nanotechnology – including suppliers, users, researchers, associations and others in order to better understand the networks of innovation and to support NanoOntario’s efforts to facilitate the development of innovation networks and advance nanotechnology.
