“I was inspired by one of my colleagues at university who was part of the program last year and now promotes it in India. I was lucky enough to be selected to come here to Canada for research into leukemia in children.”

Adrian Gil saw Mitacs Globalink as the perfect opportunity to challenge himself with a research project in a new country, and in a different language.

In the last decade, there has been a dramatic increase in innovative financing and delivery strategies to improve the state of health for people living in less-developed countries. However, not all of these efforts have been successful.

The research internship has helped us establish the radiance camera as a reliable scientific tool and has given us a much greater understanding of radiance fields in the ocean.

This experience has provided me with international exposure, as well as prospects to explore new possibilities in electronics and communications.

Sharing my research with others is integral to the field of computer security, and Mitacs Step has provided me with the necessary communication skills to do so.
