Scriptam, a sub-company of Compagnie Canadienne de Tableaux Noirs Ltée (CCTN), produces high-end whiteboards, made out of an assembly of tempered glass, paint, tape and steel. For the last 3 years, they have had an issue with around 4% of their production. Their whiteboards, which are under a 50-year warranty, undergo color degradation in the form of stains after about 6 months. In addition to being a blow to their image and reputation, it is also a major financial and ecological problem: each defective whiteboard must be replaced at the company's expense and cannot be recycled.
