The Automotive Industry is one of the most mature and has undergone several waves of digital transformation. We focus on one segment of the value chain where IT adoption has not yet had the expected impact, namely dealer-prospect relationship management. While Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions and methods have been widely adopted, there remains several issues as to how to properly match the right prospect with the most appropriate dealer.

The electrical activity of the heart i.e. ECG, can convey a lot of useful information about an individual’s health and psychological states. Wearable devices recording ECG signals can help monitor the physical health of soldiers remotely and help make critical decisions like casualty detection, remote triage, and medical management. However, ECG signal quality from these devices is often poor due to various problems such as sensor or body movement, environmental disturbances etc.

People should never have to worry about getting an infection while in the hospital or in a long-term care home. Yet every year, many Canadians suffer harm and, in some cases, death following the development of an infection while receiving healthcare. Counting and reporting these infections is a very important step in the prevention of infections. However, the methods used to collect, and report infections differs across regions, provinces, and territories in Canada.

Classical engineering, referring to the three fields of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, is currently based on traditional working methods. For example, the validation of plans is often done in paper version and the engineer must interpret photos and drawings manually, which introduces a risk of error due to the human factor. In addition, the shortage of labor in this area means that the economic potential of this industry in Canada cannot be exploited to its full value.

Cardiovascular clinical trials try to demonstrate the benefit of a medication on populations where the number of participants with the targeted disease is very low. The low efficacy of treatment is partially due to the diversity of diseases and of the population. To improve the efficacy of treatment, it is necessary to improve the recruitment of participants that are at greater risk of the studied disease through a process known as “population enrichment”.

The project consists in developing a design procedure for beam-column-bracing connection using welded end plates. This type of connection is simpler to fabricate, however, at present, the design standards do not specifically provide for their design calculations.
