Learn MoreLa présence d’impuretés dans l’acier est un critère de qualité important, spécialement dans la production destinée à la fabrication de pièces haute performance. La couche d’oxydant présentes à la surface de l’acier en fusion, le laitier, joue le double rôle de limiter le contact entre l’acier en fusion et l’air ambiant et de purifier l’acier en fusion. Les caractéristiques du laitier comme sa fluidité et son degré d’oxydation sont liées à sa composition et ont un impact important sur sa capacité à remplir ce double rôle. Le contrôle actuel du procédé est basé sur des méthodes invasives tel que l’échantillonnage, subjectives tel que l’observation de l’opérateur et lentes telle que l’analyse des échantillons au laboratoire. Le but du projet est de vérifier s’il est possible faire le suivi des caractéristiques du laitier avec un appareil d’acquisition d’image non-invasif et permettant d’obtenir de l’information en temps réel.
