Récemment, la mise au point de commutateurs haute tension et de courants nominaux fait que ces convertisseurs peuvent également s’appliquer à la transmission de courant haute tension. Ce stage effectué auprès d’Hydro Manitoba, le principal fournisseur d’énergie électrique au Manitoba, vise à développer des modèles de simulation informatique de systèmes de transmission du courant continu (CC) employant des convertisseurs de sources de tension. Ces modèles serviront ensuite à élaborer les stratégies et les structures de contrôle appropriées afin de pouvoir profiter pleinement de leur capacité de transmission de l’électricité tout en garantissant la stabilité et le bon fonctionnement du système.
