Learn MoreThe objective of the proposed project is to develop a mathematical model to compute the wave diffraction force on a floating structure partially frozen or surrounded by an ice sheet. The horizontal and vertical forces on the cylinder and bending stress in the ice plate will be computed. The results will be compared with those by decoupled solutions. The research results will improve the understanding of the coupled wave-ice-structure interaction and will lay a foundation for the development of a comprehensive simulator to simulate floating structures in harsh environments.
