Membrane processing of fermented fish waste for enrichment of bioactives
Development of a scalable, flow-through membrane-based processing platform for producing enriched fractions of bioactives from marine by-product extracts generated by bacterial fermentation. The proposed technology uses the conventional membrane filtration approach using pressure in tandem with applied voltage for increasing the value and application of the sustainably sourced, bioprocessed crude fish by-product protein extracts. Peptide fractions with desired properties namely uniform charge and size can be obtained using this processing approach.
