Canada’s top talent joined forces at the country’s largest AI conference

From industry to policymakers, Canada’s most innovative forces came together to share perspectives on the state of AI and its future at the ALL IN Conference in Montreal from September 2425, 2025. 

The two-day event drew in AI providers, members of parliament, start-ups, and more, bringing together more than 6,500 participants from over 40 countries. Mitacs was on the ground with a delegation of 12 team members to share our innovation expertise. 

Mitacs: A key player in Canada’s innovation ecosystem and AI sector

On the first day of the conference, Mitacs CEO Dr. Stephen Lucas moderated a panel discussion entitled The Talent Advantage: Accelerating Canada’s AI Competitiveness. The panel explored how Canada can accelerate its AI agenda by better connecting research, talent, and capital to enable real-world AI deployments, help firms scale, and drive home-grown innovation. 

Panelists included Dr.YvesJacquier, Executive Director for Ubisoft La Forge; Samuel Lévesque, Director of Data Science for Intact Inc.; and Dr. Perouz Taslakian, AI Research Lead for ServiceNow.  

Canada’s global recognition for AI talent and public–private research partnerships make this a timely conversation — and one where Mitacs is proud to have played a role in for more than 25 years.

AI policy: An iterative landscape

ALL IN 2025 participants discussed the role of AI in a thriving economy and how policy decisions have a direct impact on AI implementation.

Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, shared that the federal government is assembling an AI strategy taskforce to address topics such as research, talent, commercialization, and security.
