Globalink Research Intern returns to UBC for Master’s degree

As a returning Globalink student, Linda was awarded the Mitacs Globalink Graduate Fellowship which provides financial support to former Globalink Research Interns who return to Canada for graduate studies at select Mitacs university partners.

Now researching under the supervision of Dr. Mark Scott, Linda is uncovering new therapeutic methods to treat cancer tumors. The research project was one she had actively pursued, having spoken to Professor Scott prior to leaving Canada at the end of her Globalink internship. “Meeting Professor Scott face-to-face really solidified my decision to return to Canada. And now, I’m doing cutting edge research that could one day change the way we treat cancer.”

Upon completion of her degree, Linda plans to begin her career in Vancouver, continuing to do research that makes a difference.
