Le progiciel MESH d¡¯Environnement Canada est un mod¨¨le hydrologique largement utilis¨¦. Cependant, il comporte certaines limites, comme l¡¯absence de prise en compte de la pente et de l¡¯orientation du terrain. Pour que les prochaines versions de MESH tiennent compte de ces param¨¨tres importants, on doit y int¨¦grer des m¨¦thodes num¨¦riques efficaces et la capacit¨¦ de tirer profiter des syst¨¨mes informatiques de derni¨¨re g¨¦n¨¦ration ¨¤ processeurs multiples. Suite ¨¤ l¡¯am¨¦lioration du code de base de MESH avec ces caract¨¦ristiques num¨¦riques, les chercheurs scientifiques de demain n¡¯auront plus ¨¤ se soucier de questions de performance lorsqu¡¯ils analyseront des ph¨¦nom¨¨nes physiques ¨¤ grande ¨¦chelle ou ¨¤ haute r¨¦solution.
