Symcor Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment
This project will examine the strengths and weaknesses of electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) compared to paper billing. While EBPP is seen as efficient and rapid, there is an ongoing attachment to paper based billing by both customers and billers. Paper bills have a longer and higher communication impact especially with older demographics. As well, environmental impacts of paper vs electronic are not clearly in favour of one or another method as the growing impact of electronic waste and power consumption becomes better understood. Finally, the desirability and customer impact of multi-channel communications will also be considered in this review.
