Hockey parents are worried about rising concussion rates. Currently no sports equipment protects against concussions. Hockey players aged under 18, must wear a neck guard for protection against skate blade cuts. Recently, a redesigned hockey neck guard, using an impact sensor and airbag technology was conceptualized. We want to test whether airbag inflation upon direct or indirect hit to the head/face/neck/upper body, can simulate neck bracing, and reduce neck injuries and concussion risk caused by whiplash or rotational movement of the head/neck.

As such, personalization is an essential strategy for facilitating relevant learning materials to satisfy students needs. The scope of this project is to design a recommendation system by using a deep learning process for personalized learning based on a quiz module. At the end of the project, we would be able to determine how students like to learn and to evolve the learning path based on strengths to enhance the learning experiences.
Many new pharmaceuticals are based on large biomolecules like proteins. Even small differences in the protein structure can cause significant changes in the efficacy and safety of these drugs. Furthermore, these large molecules are difficult to characterize without advanced instrumentation and methods. Current technologies still struggle with robustness and reproducibility. This study aims to introduce new technology to improve the reliability of protein pharmaceutical characterization.

Image denoising is a fundamental process in most of computer vision systems, imaging systems, and photography productions. Recently, with the power of deep neural networks, image denoising has been pushed towards new boundaries. However, neural network image denoisers are constrained by the accuracy of the noise model used to train them. Training on a poor noise model results in poor generalization performance on real-world images.
