Mitacs and the FRQSC Renew their Agreement and Relaunch the Accelerate Program

City of Québec, QC Mitacs and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC) are pleased to announce the renewal of the Scholarship for Internship in a Practice Environment (BSMP) FRQSC-Mitacs Accelerate program. For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, 75 scholarships, ranging in value from $13,000 to $15,000, will be offered to students pursuing graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, education, management, arts and humanities.

The Accelerate program is designed to provide interns with practical work experience during which they can mobilize their research knowledge. The program also aims to foster bilateral exchanges and collaboration between the research community and the parapublic, public and private sectors. Finally, it supports practice environments in their efforts to integrate people pursuing a master’s or doctoral research program into the job market.

Competitive Call

This program is open at all times until March 31, 2025, or until funds are exhausted. More details are available on the program’s website.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Mitacs. Internships offer exceptional opportunities both for the next generation of researchers and for the practice environments that host and supervise them. We would also like to thank the teachers who supervise these internships and make this knowledge mobilization possible. In addition to opening doors and raising awareness of the benefits of including researchers on teams, these internships contribute to the strength and vitality of Quebec society.”

Louise Poissant, Scientific Director, Fonds de recherche du Québec– Société et culture

“Mitacs is delighted to continue its partnership with the FRQSC, supporting research collaborations in the social sciences and humanities, education, management, arts, and humanities. These collaborations provide master’s and doctoral students with applied research experience, while stimulating innovation in numerous organizations across Quebec.”
