Vancouver, BC – Mitacs Full Partner Simon Fraser University marks its 50th birthday this year. Since 2008, Simon Fraser University and Mitacs have partnered to provide experiential learning opportunities to students and postdocs through the Mitacs Accelerate, Elevate, Globalink, and Step programs.
Mitacs and SFU have collaborated on hundreds of projects:
In addition, 1,366 SFU students have attended Mitacs Step workshops, which train graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in essential interpersonal, project management, and entrepreneurial skills. Since 2012, 36 Step workshops have been offered at the university.
The delivery of Mitacs programs occurs with the support and partnership of Simon Fraser University, the Government of British Columbia, and the Government of Canada. Over the past seven years, a total investment value of almost $10.5 million has been sent to the university.
