Toronto, ON – Thursday, May 2, 2013 – Mitacs thanks the Government of Ontario for a new $10 million investment to develop the next generation of skilled research and development managers.
This new funding will allow exceptional PhDs in Ontario to lead and manage an industry research project, promoting commercialization and economic benefit, while receiving intensive training in business and entrepreneurship skills.
“Investment in the next generation of researchers – those people who are going to help ensure that Ontario’s economy continues to grow while attracting leading companies and entrepreneurs – are essential to the province’s long-term competitiveness,” said Dr. Arvind Gupta, CEO & Scientific Director of Mitacs. “We look forward to working with Premier Wynne and the Government of Ontario on this new initiative and thank them for recognizing the effectiveness of Mitacs programs.”
