Programmatic update on COVID-19 (coronavirus) – March 13, 2020

Vancouver, BC–Countries, businesses, organizations, and post-secondary institutions are working to contain and understand COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Our priority in this matter is public health. We are following Government of Canada’s advisories, provincial advisories, and individual Canadian university’s policies to keep our staff and program participants as safe as possible.

Specific program updates:

  • Globalink Research Internships (inbound to Canada): Participants should not spend any funds preparing for the trip at this time. We are monitoring the situation and will provide an update by the end of next week, March 20.
  • Globalink Research Awards, Mitacs Entrepreneur International, and Accelerate International (outbound to international locations and inbound to Canada): We are examining and amending projects as requested and on a case-by-case basis. Participants should ensure that projects are in compliance with university policies and that appropriate authorities have signed off before incurring any costs.
  • Domestic programs remain unaffected at this time.
