Learn MoreThis project will take existing waste material(s), blended with a stabilization agent and create a useful material that can be used as a cover material for a landfill. The waste materials will consist of residual material from municipal water or waste water treatment plants, pulp and paper plants combined with waste materials that are residual from industrial processes such as cement manufacturing, energy generation, etc. The material to be created will be engineered to have desirable properties to act as a suitable cover material replacement for clay in a landfill. These desired properties will include strength, low permeability while also ensuring it is environmentally safe.
